Hyundai Xcent - Autoportal’s take on the star car from Hyundai

Hyundai Xcent came out as a replacement car for the second generation Accent and is manufactured by Hyundai Motor India Limited in Chennai. Hyundai Xcent is a subcompact sedan based on Hyundai Grandi10 sedan. This 4 door sedan is a commonly preferred car by Indians due to its fuel-efficiency. In general, subcompact sedans are easy to drive in the traffic prone areas. Hyundai Xcent was launched in February 2014, 3 days before the World Auto Expo. Hyundai Xcent comes in three different models, namely Base, S, and SX. Both the petrol and diesel engine combinations are available.

Exterior features
The exterior appearance of Hyundai Xcent is designed with Hyundai’s signature looks. Hyundai Xcent’s outer appearance is breathtaking with its curves and styles. The whole outer fittings including the headlamp, chrome grill, and rear lamp are fixed appropriately avoiding the clumsy look. Xcent’s side profile is enhanced by waistline molding, which prevents the car from scratches. Aerodynamically designed outside mirror with LED indicator, wrap around rear combination tail improves the visibility quotient. Distinct fog lamps, R-15 diamond cut alloy wheels and micro antennae increase the aesthetic look of the car.  Adding to the style component is the chrome embellishments which makes the car classy and elegant. In one word, Hyundai Xcent is a noticeable, eye catching,  orderly and glittery family car. 

Interior features
The interior of Hyundai Xcent is generally airy, spacious and beautiful. The front seat is bucket shaped, while the rear seat with headrest provision gives huge space for comfortable driving. Some noticeable features are rear AC vents, predominately designed to instantly cool the rear ambience, 1 GB memory storage and integrated audio device, push button start up, floor console storage, and seat pockets. . Larger boot and a luggage lamp will help during long distance travelling. 

Under the hood
Hyundai Xcent is provided with 16 V DOHC Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine and second generation euro 5 advanced U2 CRDi diesel engine. Engines are designed for increasing the mileage, performance, efficiency. Engines are designed as per the euro norms to reduce emissions. Mileage obtained from the petrol engine is around 18.9 km pl and the diesel engine is 24.4 km pl. 

Hyundai Xcent has 4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmission system. Rear defogger, anti-lock braking system (ABS), enhanced steel ring-shaped body structure, electro chrome mirror and rear parking camera. The mentioned safety measures help the driver to get a clear rear view of the impending vehicles to avoid a collision and enhance safety. Hyundai Xcent is present in the price range of Rs. 5.03-7.75 Lakhs. The main competitor for Hyundai Xcent in the market is Maruti Swift Dzire and Honda Amaze.
